Mr. Antoni Macierewicz aka Izaak Singer, on behalf of Radio Maryja (Chicago) and a committee supporting Jaroslaw Kaczynski, in his current presentations to US Polonia re investigation of the Smolensk tragedy, calls for letters supportive of US Cong. Peter King’s H. Res. 1489. It is claimed that this Resolution requests the U.S. to establish an independent international investigation of the Smolensk tragedy. Have any the Polish Americans seen/read this House Resolution 1489 before signing the letters distributed by the organizers of Mr. Macierewicz/Singer’s presentations ? Is US Congressman Peter King known to the Pol-Am community ? Has he, in the past done anything for the Pol-Am community ? Is he familiar with Polish/Polonian issues ?

Below are several revelatory items of Cong. Peter King’s work:
Israel
During my seventeen years in Congress, I have been a staunch defender of the State of Israel. I have consistently voted in favor of military and economic aid packages benefiting Israel and sponsored legislation that prohibits direct assistance to Palestinian Government entities associated with Hamas or other terrorist organizations. I have also authored the Promoting Anti-Terrorism Cooperation through Technology and Science (PACTS) Act which was signed into law by President Bush. This legislation encourages cooperation on homeland security research, development, testing, and evaluation between the U.S., Israel, and other allies in the Global War on Terror. I have also been a leader in securing homeland security funding to protect non-profit institutions such as synagogues, religious schools, and community centers.
Below, you may find various letters and resolutions I have recently endorsed:
On 12/22/09 I wrote to President Obama requesting continued security assistance for Israel.
On 5/28/09 I wrote to President Obama recommending that negotiations between Israel and Palestine occur between them, that we work closely with Israel, insist that Palestine commit to end violence, and that we promote involvement with the Arab states.
On 2/11/09 I wrote to Secretary of State Clinton calling for a moratorium on contributions to the United Nations Relief & Works Agency (UNRWA) until the Government Accountability Office (GAO) completes a report to determine whether any Palestinian terrorists receive funding from UNRWA.
H. Con. Res. 29 — This resolution calls for increased transparency and accountability to make sure UNRWA is not providing money to or employing terrorists.
H. Res. 42 — This resolution calls on the President and the Secretary of State to withhold U.S. funding for and participation in the Durban Review Conference (Durban II) and its preparatory activities. Durban II is the follow-up conference to the disastrous United Nations World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance held in South Africa in 2001.
H. Res. 557 — This resolution expresses support for the State of Israel’s inalienable right to defend itself in the face of an imminent nuclear or military threat from Iran, terrorist organizations, and the countries that harbor them.
H. Res. 867 — This resolution calls on the President and the Secretary of State to oppose unequivocally any endorsement or further consideration of the “Report of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict” (Goldstone Report) in multilateral fora.

A tough choice for House Democrats, made necessary by Obama’s jihad-enabling anti-Israel policies. And it looks as if they’re making the wrong choice. “‘King’ of Israel: Rep. rips Bam, UN flotilla probe,” by Rebecca Harshbarger and S.A. Miller in the New York Post, June 14:
Rep. Pete King says President Obama’s weak Mideast policy is forcing House Democrats to make the difficult choice of either supporting Obama or supporting Israel.
“I hope they put our relationship with Israel above their relationship with Obama,” King (R-LI) said yesterday.
Flanked by Jewish community leaders at a press conference across from the United Nations, King rallied support for his legislation calling for the US to quit the UN Human Rights Council and its probe of the Israeli raid May 31 on a flotilla off Gaza.
