NCOW response blast to Washington Times: US doctors fight UN Ban on Mercury
Folks: The Washington Post was nice enough to send me a response that they couldn’t print my editorial. I thought that was quite decent of them to reach out where they otherwise just let time go by and then you know you are not getting printed. Perhaps she did this to encourage me to send it to other papers. Here is the unpublished editorial. It is interesting to note that on MedPageToday, Dr. Orenstein from Emory said he had “no conflicts of interest”. Ha! Read on….

Mass media propaganda article iterations on doctors opposing a ban on mercury appear everywhere on Dec. 17, 2012. Virtually every article has the same content but different titles. Published in NY Times as ” Vaccine Rule Is Said to Hurt Health Efforts”; the Washington Times as “U.S. doctors fight U.N. ban on preservative in vaccines”; USA Today as ” Doctors oppose ban on vaccine additive; US News and World Report as “Banning Vaccine Preservative Would Hurt Kids in Poor Nations”, the National Coalition of Organized Women respond herein to the general content and in specific to Dr. Walter Orenstein, spokesperson for Emory University:
Dr. Walter Orenstein, associate director of the Emory Vaccine Center at Emory University in Georgia states, “Fifteen years of research “has failed to yield any evidence of significant harm,” including serious neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism, “from use of thimerosal in vaccines”.
On the contrary there are thousands of independent, non-industry related studies linking mercury and vaccines with neurodevelopmental disorders. One of which is the 2009/10 flu pandemic Centers For Disease Control (CDC) great public experiment on pregnant women. Recently published in the Human and Experimental Toxicology Journal (HET), Sept 27, 2012, Dr. Gary Goldman established that there was a 4,250% increase in fetal death reports associated with the 2009/10 flu shots “with mercury”. The study and subsequent investigation by the National Coalition of Organized Women (NCOW) reveals that the CDC urged the nations Ob/Gyn’s to give their pregnant patients, in any trimester, not one, but two – double-dose – of flu vaccine (with mercury), the seasonal flu shot and the untested H1N1 vaccine, killing thousands of unborn children and no doubt damaging the surviving children.
National Coalition of Organized Women (NCOW) found nearly 500 patents on Autism research that were paid for by NIH and private pharmaceuticals, including huge amounts of money paid to Dr. Orenstein’s Emory University. Generally, these patents do not address “cause” but seek to fund the development of “drug treatments”. Why would pharmaceutical-supported research universities like Emory seek to establish cause when “billions” of dollars are freely handed to their researchers for autism drug treatment studies filling the deep pockets of the pharmaceutical industry as well as the Universities? Emory University’s cozy financial relationship with the CDC prevents Dr. Orenstein from transparency regarding his vested interests and the vaccine-link to chronic diseases such as Autism, ADHD, bipolar, OCD, juvenile diabetes, asthma, Alzheimer’s and obesity, to name a few. Autism cases alone have gone from 1 in 10,000 cases in the 1980s to 1 in 88 cases today- all in concert with an increase in the childhood vaccine schedule. Moreover, with Bill and Melinda Gates vaccine push, Autism is recently rising in Africa where cases had never been seen before. It is noteworthy that 15 of the vaccines in the early childhood program had high levels of mercury up until 2004. The establishment urges us not eat fish containing mercury. Yet we are asked to stand by like sheeple as health professionals inject the neurotoxin directly into our children’s arms.
Conveniently located down the block from the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia, Federal agencies have awarded more than $349 million, or 67 percent of the total, led by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), with $299 million in awards. NIH funding represented 86 percent of total federal dollars awarded to Emory and more than 58 percent of all funding received. Researchers in Emory’s Woodruff Health Sciences Center (WHSC) received $481.7 million, or approximately 93 percent of the University total. The WHSC includes schools of medicine, public health, nursing, Yerkes National Primate Research Center, Winship Cancer Institute and Emory Healthcare Emory University School of Medicine received $331 million, or approximately 64 percent of the total dollars awarded. The Rollins School of Public Health received nearly $74 million, Yerkes National Primate Research Center received $65 million, and Emory’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing received more than $7 million.
The Unintended Consequences of the Bayh-Dole Act
Thirty-two years ago a law known as Bayh-Dole spawned the biotech industry. The Bayh-Dole act gave the patent rights to the Universities and the researcher with the stipulation that they find a marketing channel. Prior to the Bayh-Dole act, the patents ostensibly belonged to the people as the academic research was funded by taxpayer dollars. The creators of the act claimed that because the government was not in the marketing business that discoveries, whose patents were owned by the people, fell through the cracks. To correct this, it was suggested to give the patent rights to the universities & researchers. By giving the patents to the universities and university researchers with the stipulation that it was their responsibility to find a marketing channel, the private biopharmaceuticals had a “free R & D arm paid for by our government agencies and further supported by their own funding-private interests. This led to the academic scientist coveting their research via ownership as to reap abundant royalties for themselves and the University. Vaccines and their adverse events are big businesses aren’t they Dr. Orenstein?
